An ecommerce operations desk with orders on screen

AI employee for ecommerce

An AI employee for the work between the orders.

A store does not run on orders. It runs on the queue beside them: where is my order, the address is wrong, this arrived damaged, why is this SKU out of stock, why did the ad set stop spending.

An AI employee works that queue on your own systems: your helpdesk, your Shopify or WooCommerce admin, your 3PL portal, your ad accounts. It follows your policy, escalates what it should, and logs everything.

Start on day one: $99 a month for one agent, integrations included, your whole team on the same seats.

The queue

The orders scale. The queue scales with them.

Support volume grows faster than revenue, because every new SKU, market and channel adds another way for a customer to need a person.

Today
  • Tickets answered in the order they arrive, by whoever is free
  • Order exceptions found by the customer, not by you
  • Catalogue edits batched for a quiet afternoon that never comes
  • Ad spend checked when someone remembers to open the account
→
With an AI employee
  • Tickets triaged and answered from your policy, exceptions routed to a person
  • Delayed shipments, failed payments and address problems caught before the customer writes
  • Catalogue and pricing fixes applied across channels, with a change log
  • Ad sets and promos checked daily, with a flag when spend or conversion breaks pattern

The agent does the first pass on everything and the whole pass on the routine. People handle the judgement calls.

The work

What an ecommerce agent actually runs

Scoped as roles with a written policy, not one generalist answering everything.

Where is my order

Order status pulled from the store and the carrier, answered in your tone, with the tracking link and the revised date.

Order exceptions

Address fixes, cancellations, duplicate charges, failed payments and split shipments handled inside the limits you set.

Returns and refunds

Eligibility checked against your policy, labels issued, refunds queued for approval above a threshold you choose.

Catalogue and product data

Titles, attributes, variants, image alt text and channel-specific fields corrected in bulk, with a before and after log.

Reviews and UGC

New reviews triaged, questions answered, review requests timed after delivery rather than after checkout.

Promotions and ad checks

Daily checks on spend, pacing, stock-outs behind live ads, and promo codes that are eating margin.

3PL and supplier follow-up

Delayed inbound, missing ASNs, stock discrepancies and short shipments chased with the warehouse, not by email ping-pong.

Restock and price watch

Low stock flagged against sales velocity, competitor price moves captured weekly, reorder suggestions queued for a buyer.

A day in the queue

A Tuesday in a store doing 400 orders a day

One agent, one helpdesk, one approvals queue. Your team reads exceptions, not everything.

07:30

Overnight queue

Tickets triaged by intent. 38 answered, 6 need a person, 2 flagged as possible fraud.

09:00

Exceptions

Late shipments caught before the first customer email. Address fixes applied for the 09:00 carrier cut-off.

11:00

Catalogue

120 product fields cleaned across the store and the marketplace feed, with the change log posted.

14:00

Ad and promo check

One ad set stopped spending, one promo code leaking margin. Both flagged with numbers and a proposed fix.

18:00

Handover

Returns queued for approval, restock list sent to the buyer, tomorrow's carrier exceptions pre-loaded.

The line

What the agent does not decide

Money, brand and legal stay with people. Everything else can be delegated, one permission at a time.

DecisionWho owns it
Refunds above your thresholdYour team. The agent prepares the case, a person approves the money.
Chargebacks and fraud claimsYour team, with the evidence pack assembled for them.
Brand voice on a sensitive replyYour team. The agent drafts, a person signs.
Pricing, margin and promo depthYour team. The agent reports what a code is costing.
Product claims and compliance copyYour team. The agent applies approved copy, it does not invent claims.

Every action is logged with the order, the policy applied and the approver.

Thresholds are per role: a refund limit, a discount limit, a send limit. Set them low and raise them as the log proves clean.

Peak season

Built for the four weeks that decide the year

Black Friday is four weeks out. The work that breaks in peak is exactly the work an agent can carry.

Seasonal volume

The same policy answers 40 tickets or 4,000. You add capacity by raising the credit allowance, not by hiring in October.

Peak playbooks

Delivery promises, cut-off dates and returns windows written once, applied everywhere, and switched off on the right date.

Fraud and chargebacks

New accounts, mismatched addresses and unusual order patterns flagged before fulfilment, with the evidence attached.

After the peak

January returns wave handled by the same policy, while your team works on next year instead of cleaning up.

The maths

The maths, using your numbers

Support cost is hours times volume. Put your own figures in and the comparison stops being abstract.

OptionWhat it costsWhat you get
In-house support agentSalary x 1.25 to 1.4 for loaded costOne person, 40 hours, one shift, plus recruitment and cover for holidays.
Outsourced support seat$1,200 - $2,500 a month per seatShift coverage, usually script-bound, with a setup fee and a queue backlog at peak.
AI employee, entry tier$99 a monthOne agent, day-one self-onboarding, connectors included, unlimited internal seats.
AI employee, AI Go$249 a monthManaged onboarding, 200K credits, all 50+ integrations, 2 to 4 week build.

Credits are usage, not seats. A busy peak month can be topped up at $50 per 100K credits.

The agent does not replace your support lead. It removes the repeated 70 percent so the lead handles the 30 percent that needs judgement.

One agent can cover several stores or markets. Where a brand needs an isolated workspace, that is a second agent.

The stack

Connects to the store you already run

No migration, no new dashboard. The agent works inside the admin you log into today.

More than 50 pre-built integrations, any system with an API, and browser automation for marketplaces and 3PL portals that have neither. See the full catalogue.

Has an API

Shopify, Stripe and the helpdesks are native. Anything else with an API is a scoped connection.

No API, still needed

Marketplace and carrier portals run in an isolated browser session, credentials in a vault, every click in the log.

Custom

Enterprise builds the connector and maintains it as the platform changes.

Getting started

Two weeks to a working queue

Most stores start with Where is my order, because it is the highest volume and the lowest risk.

1

Day one

Connect the helpdesk and the store, choose the support role, paste your policy into the rulebook.

2

Week one

The agent drafts replies and proposes actions. Nothing sends. You correct the drafts in plain language.

3

Week two

Turn on auto-send for the three or four intents you are confident about. Keep the rest in review.

4

Month one

Add catalogue, returns or ad checks. Widen the refund and discount limits as the log proves clean.

Questions

Ecommerce questions, answered directly

The ones that come up on every call.

Will it reply to customers without approval?

Only for intents you switch on. The default is draft-and-review. You enable auto-send per intent, per channel, with a refund threshold you set.

Does it work with Shopify and WooCommerce?

Yes, both are pre-built, including orders, fulfilment status, product data and customer records. Magento and BigCommerce are supported the same way.

Can it handle marketplace messages?

Amazon, eBay, Etsy and TikTok Shop are reachable. Where the marketplace has no usable API the agent works through an isolated browser session with every action logged.

What about refunds and chargebacks?

The agent prepares the case and applies your policy. Money above your threshold waits for a person. Chargebacks always go to a person with an evidence pack.

How does it handle peak volume?

Same policy, more credits. You raise the allowance for the month instead of hiring and training in October.

Will it replace my support team?

No. It takes the repeated 70 percent, which is where burnout comes from, and leaves the judgement work to people.

Where does it get its answers?

From your policy documents, macros, product data and past resolutions. Not from the open web, unless you explicitly allow a source.

How long does setup take?

Helpdesk and store are typically live in a week. Catalogue and ad checks are added in the second and third week.

Who owns the data?

You do. The agent reads what you connect and writes where you allow. We do not train on your data.

What happens when it is unsure?

It stops and asks. Low-confidence tickets are handed to a person with the order context attached.

Every plan includes hosting, AI usage, and support. AI usage is counted in credits and shown live per agent in your portal. One credit is a standard unit of work: a quick task runs 50-150 credits, a standard workflow across two or three systems 250-750, and a deep task such as a report or a document set 1,500-5,000. Unused credits roll over for as long as your plan is active, and you can top up at any time at $50 per 100K credits. Extra agents add on at $249 per agent per month. Every pre-built integration is included, with no per-connector fee; only a custom build is scoped separately. Sub-agents are the specialist workers each agent can call on to finish a job. You get the full number before we start.
